    • All anti-theft devices are either active or passive.

Active devices are ones you have to set yourself, usually by moving a switch, removing a separate key or pushing a button. This category includes all mechanical devices that you must physically set each time you want to use them.

Passive devices automatically arm themselves when you turn off the vehicle and remove the key. These are considered more effective because they do not rely on your memory to be activated.

      • Generally speaking policies run either 6 months or 1 year. If you you would like to make monthly payments vs paying for a 6 month or 1 year policy up front in full, I believe you can do that. Yes, there probably will be a surcharge and you might pay a little more. Call your agent and they may offer to change your billing to monthly installments. Only one way to find out.
